Set Up Mail Account in Outlook Express

Open Outlook express

Click on tools > accounts


 
Click on the mail tab


 

Click Add > Mail


 

Enter your display name, then click the Next button


 

Enter your email address, then click the Next button


 

Enter the incoming and outgoing mail servers-This will be mail.yourdomain.com where yourdomain.com

 represents the domain name after the @ in your email address, click the Next button

 


 

Enter your Account name. This is the same as your email address. (Make sure you type your FULL email address!) Then type in your email password. Make sure Remember password is checked. Click next.


 

Click Finish


 

At this point highlight the mail account mail.yourdomain.com and Click the Properties button.

 


 

Shown below is an example of what the account properties should look like.

Any changes to the mail account  need to be made here in the account properties box.


 

Click the Servers tab and verify the spelling for the incoming and outgoing mail servers.

Then check the box for "My server requires authentication"


 

By default the Outgoing port will be 25 and the incoming port will be 110. Leave these settings the same.

Make sure there are NO check marks for This server requires a secure connection(SSL). These

checkboxes should be empty


 

Click Ok then Close to return to Outlook Express. Note that some changes

require closing outlook express and reopening it before they take effect.

Mail Test

Enter your email address in the box below and click the Send Test button.

A test message will be sent to you immediately.
